For children aged 3 to 6

A gentle A–Z of little stories

Alphamingo is a picture-book app for young children. Every letter of the alphabet gets its own short story — a handful of pages, a big drawing on each one, and a sentence read out loud if your child wants to hear it.

No ads. No sign-in. Nothing for your child to buy.

How it works

Three taps from the home screen to a story

It is built to be handed to a child who cannot read yet, on a sofa, without a tutorial.

  1. Pick a letter

All twenty-six letters sit on one shelf. The ones with a story ready are lit up and waiting to be tapped.

  2. Turn the pages

One picture, one word, one short sentence at a time. Swipe, tap the side of the picture, or use the two big arrows.

  3. Tap “Read to me”

Every page can be read out loud. A child who cannot read yet is never stuck waiting for a grown-up.

Who it is for

For the child, and for whoever is sitting next to them

Three to six is the age when letters stop being decoration and start being sounds. Alphamingo is made for that stretch — early enough that nobody can read yet, late enough that a child wants to turn the page themselves.

  • Stories are short on purpose — five to eight pages, a few minutes each. Long enough to finish before bedtime falls apart.
  • Each page puts one thing that starts with the letter next to its picture, and the last page recaps all of them together.
  • Reading is never required. The pictures carry the story on their own.
  • It works just as well read aloud by you, with the sound turned off.

The quiet part

What Alphamingo does not do

Most of the work in a children’s app is in what you leave out. Here is what we left out, and we will not be adding it later.

  • No advertising

There are no ads in the app, no sponsored pages, and no third-party ad networks. Not now, and not as a later surprise.

  • No account for your child

There is no sign-in screen. The app opens straight onto the books. We never ask a child for a name, an age, or an email address.

  • Nothing to buy inside

No in-app purchases, no coins, no locked pages that nag a four-year-old to fetch a parent.

  • No tracking

No analytics, no advertising identifier, no third-party SDKs watching what your child taps.

  • No microphone or camera

The app never asks for the microphone, the camera, contacts, or location, because it has no use for any of them.

  • No score to lose

There is no quiz, no timer, and no wrong answer. It is a picture book, not a test.

The full detail is in the privacy policy, written in plain English rather than in clauses.

How it is made

Drawn, not photographed

Every illustration is built from simple flat shapes — a circle for a ball, a curve for a bounce. There are no photographs of real people anywhere in the app, and no faces a child might mistake for someone they know.

The stories are written by a teacher, not generated in bulk. Each book is a handful of pages that were actually read out loud before they shipped, and more letters are being added over time.
