Alphamingo is not on the App Store yet, so there is nothing to pay for today. Two things we can promise now, and will not walk back: there will never be advertising in the app, and there will never be in-app purchases aimed at your child — no coins, no locked pages, nothing that nags a four-year-old to go and fetch a grown-up.

Whatever the app costs, the App Store listing will say so plainly before you download anything.

Mostly not. The stories that come with the app are stored on the device and open with no connection at all — which is the point, because car journeys and waiting rooms are exactly when a picture book earns its keep.

A connection is only needed to pick up books added after you installed it, and to play narration that has not been downloaded yet.

None. No banner ads, no video ads, no “sponsored” stories, no cross-promotion of other apps, and no ad networks in the code at all. This is set out in detail in the privacy policy.

No. There is no sign-in screen anywhere in the app — it opens straight onto the shelf of letters. We never ask a child for a name, an age, an email address, or anything else.

Delete the app. That removes the stories and anything stored on your device, and there is nothing left behind on our side, because we never collected anything about your child in the first place — no account, no profile, no analytics.

If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, write to support@alphamingo.com and we will delete it and confirm. The privacy policy spells out the full picture.

Roughly three to six. Younger children enjoy the pictures and the sounds with an adult nearby; older ones start to recognise the letters and turn the pages themselves. There is no quiz, no timer and no score, so nobody can fall behind.

Tap the button on any page and the sentence is read aloud. Where a book has recorded narration, you hear that recording. Where it does not yet, your device reads the sentence with its own built-in voice, which is more robotic — those pages are being replaced with real recordings over time. The app never listens; it only speaks.

Letters without a story stay on the shelf marked “coming soon” rather than disappearing, so it is clear more are on the way. Books are being added steadily. If there is a letter your child is stuck on, tell us at support@alphamingo.com and we will bump it up the list.

Yes. There is no account and no device limit, so it works on the family iPad and on a phone without anything to set up or transfer.
